FRAMING THE AGEAN: A Contemporary Cycladic Retreat

Five-Star Hotel
Developed as part of the Makridis Associates team, the project responds to a linear site condition shaped by topography and sea views. My role focused on common-area buildings during the construc-tion phase, including restaurant spaces, as well as the exterior spa design.

The project is composed of fragmented volumes arranged linearly along the site, responding to the topography and views towards the sea. Accommodation is distributed across sequential blocks, while shared functions are concentrated in central buildings. Circulation follows outdoor paths that connect all elements, reinforcing movement through the land-scape. The design draws on Cycladic principles, expressed through simple cubic forms, flat roofs, and a restrained material palette of plaster and stone, embedded within the island’s landscape.
